"Obsidian" by Jennifer L. Armentrout (Lux-series book 1)

“Remind me," he paused, drawing in a stuttered gasp, "to never piss you off again. Christ, are you secretly a ninja?”

Hey Guys!
Let's start with my favourite book!

Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I’d pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring… until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something… unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door marks me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon’s touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I’m getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.

If I don’t kill him first, that is. (source: goodreads)

I just love, love, love this book.!
1st: The story. Right after I read about 10 pages I was IN LOVE with this book and the characters. The story is very emotional, funny, mysterious, thrilling and a dream of every teenage girl.
2nd: Jennifers writing is hilarious and ironic. Like she mixes everyday stuff with the sci-fi elements just so good! You just don't expect that in a book about hot aliens, I mean she lets Daemon make jokes about McDonald's! (that one was my favourite ;D)

3rd: I instantly fell in love with the characters. I can really identify myself with Katy because she's just an ordinary girl who loves books, hot guys with messy black hair and is addicted to the internet. It sounds like nothing, but throughout the story she shows how brave and strong and wonderful she is.
Daemon Black is my favourite character. At the beginning he's very mysterious and a "bad boy", but after some time, pages and even books he's like the sweetest and caring boy ever.
Still his jokes and comments are just my favourite part about him. Or his look: bright green eyes, black messy hair, casual style, very muscular, great cheekbones and just *sigh* *melting because thinking too much about him* .

All in all it's an easy read, you never get bored and it's just so, so funny.
This book series isn't as well known as "the mortal instruments" (TMI) for example, but its worth the buying, reading and loving and I mean I like it better than Cohf (City of heavenly fire, book 6 of the TMI series), which was a REALLY great book. So yeah..just read it!

Love,
